Gina, a Boxer mix, lived a terrible life. Her owners chained her in their backyard, and she was frequently and severely beaten. The dog was also never permitted inside her owner’s home and was continuously exposed to harsh weather.
Tragically, when she had puppies, they all perished in the mud. They were close to her when it happened, but she was unable to save them because she was chained up. Every night, she lamented her loss and grieved heavily. This and getting beaten regularly crushed the neighbors’ hearts.
The neighbors could see that Gina was horribly neglected and mistreated, so they notified the authorities. Unfortunately, it took three years for the police to eventually remove the dog from its circumstances. Even though it took a considerable amount of time, the neighbors were relieved to see that the enormous dog finally had a chance at a good life.
Despite her terrible past, Gina quickly found a forever home since she was a kind and attentive dog. There, she experienced for the first time what it was like to be loved and have a true family.
During one of Gina and her new mother’s daily walks, the dog spotted a mother cat and her kittens living near a dumpster. The huge dog tugged on her leash and brought her owner to the stray creatures. The nice woman did not hesitate to bring the entire family home with them.
Gina and Lucy, the cat, quickly became close friends. The dog would even assist in caring for the cat’s kittens. The patient dog also became a substitute mom and even permitted the kittens to climb on her.
Once the kittens had grown and became more independent, they were made available for adoption. Lucy remained with Gina and their loving mother.
