If you’ve had the chance to care for pets, the thought of knowing that your pet is lost is probably the most terrible nightmare you can ever have. That’s why it is a must to take precautionary measures ahead of time so our dogs won’t be wandering alone in the streets.
There are a few helpful inventions, like a dog collar that’s microchipped with a GPS tracker, which can help pet owners when their canines are lost. But unfortunately, even if you make your pooch wear one, there’s still a chance they can get lost.
This is what Aisha Nieves had to go through way back in May 2019. A driver accidentally crashed into her gate and left a hole that was big enough for her dog to escape through.
On the day that her pooch, Kovu, escaped, she felt something wasn’t right even before she realized he was gone. It was because he didn’t greet her at the door when she arrived home one night.
Aisha was heartbroken. She did everything to find her beloved pooch, but little did she know that Kovu had been brought to the local humane society. Four months later, Kovu was then adopted by someone before Aisha had gone to check in with the humane society to see if by any chance they had him.
The pooch was in good hands with his new owner. But with a twist of fate, he had to be returned to the humane society because the owner got evicted. Then when Aisha had another chance to look through the society’s adoptable dogs, she came across a familiar dog.
It was a picture of Kovu! She was certain that it was her dog because of the scar on his face.
In no time, she requested to see Kovu. And as seen in the video, when they finally reunited, Kovu was elated and showered Aisha with lots of kisses and hugs. Aisha couldn’t hold back the tears!
Curious as to how Aisha’s and Kovu’s reunion happened? You can watch it through the heartwarming video below.
