Sully the Boston Terrier tried to convince Kumu the Keeshond to play tug of war, but the latter wasn’t having it. Kumu didn’t want to because in the past, Sully played a bit rough, and Kumu didn’t want a repeat of that.

The Boston Terrier’s friendly, but he could get a little too excited. When he does, the simple game of tug-of-war turns into a fight. Kumu politely declined Sully’s invitation by refusing to engage. It was his own way of saying no without hurting Sully’s feelings.

Sully’s favorite game is tug of war, and he never gets tired of burning all that energy. He loves playing it with his closest friends, and since Kumu is one of them, he asked the Keeshond to play.

We can’t fault Kumu for refusing because Sully’s overly-enthusiastic playing with his favorite toys is a bit much. The Keeshond simply watched the Boston Terrier do his thing, and we respect Kumu for abiding by his boundaries.

Saying no

Kumu might not be interested in playing tug of war with Sully, but that doesn’t mean they’re no longer friends. They still play fetch and go on walks together. There are plenty of activities that both dogs enjoy together, and we’re sure they’ll find one they both enjoy doing in no time.

This story just shows that it’s okay to say no in a way that does not hurt someone’s feelings. In the case of dogs playing tug of war, it might be better to decline so that no one gets hurt.

We say this Keeshond is one smart cookie, and he’s living proof that saying no is healthy. We think Kumu made the right decision by politely declining Sully’s invitation to play.

They are still friends because both dogs understood and respected each other. Mad props to you both, Kumu and Sully!
