As everyone knows, canines and mail carriers do not always see eye to eye. Our dogs are almost often at war with delivery personnel just as much as they are always in conflict with cats. It is absurd yet entertaining, but despite it happening quite often, it is not always the case. Some canines are so sociable that they can become friends with mail carriers.
We discovered a remarkable friendship between a mailman and a dog in Boulder, Colorado – yes, such a thing exists. This mailman is named Jeff Kramer and he is a postal service worker who adores dogs.
He owned an elderly dog named Odie. Sadly, Odie passed away. But Jeff’s affection for dogs never vanished – it only shifted from one dog to another.
Jeff always made deliveries for a woman named Karen Dimetrosky, and he frequently observed her lugging their senior black Lab, Tashi, up and down their front porch steps. Karen is no spring chicken, and she revealed that carrying around their dog wears her out. Therefore, whenever he was around, Jeff assisted Karen in carrying Tashi.
When Odie passed away, the mailman had a brilliant idea. He decided to give Karen and her senior dog the ramp he had constructed for his dog. He left the materials at Karen’s residence with the expectation that her family would figure out how to rebuild it.
Karen and her spouse are both terrible with things like that. When Jeff discovered that the pieces of wood for the ramp were unused and just lying beside Karen’s house, he decided to pay them a visit on his day off. The mailman brought over his tools to construct the ramp.
Now, Tashi can enter and exit their home without difficulty. This relieves Karen of the responsibility of carrying a large dog.
It’s inspiring to see what people can accomplish when they do something unexpected for someone else! Jeff even made a joke about being a mailman who loves dogs, knowing how uncommon that is.
