Pit Bulls are often seen as violent or aggressive dogs. One of the main reasons that Pit Bulls are seen as such is because they’re often used in dogfighting. We have to remember it’s not the dog’s fault – it’s the people who train these gentle and loving dogs to become aggressive who are at fault.
Thankfully, increasing numbers of people are starting to change their minds about the Pit Bull breed. A Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Max did something amazing that saved a person’s life. While Max was out on a walk with his owner, George Conner, he sensed that something was wrong.
George was taking Max for a walk near a cliffside in Sussex. Little did George know that the area that he decided to take Max for a walk was infamous for suicides. Max suddenly became uneasy and sensed that something wasn’t quite right. Max started running away from George and headed near the cliffside. Although George was concerned, he didn’t have a clue about why Max was running away. George decided to follow Max and was surprised by what he saw next.
When George got closer to where Max was, he saw something that he first assumed was a small pile of garbage. However, after getting a little closer, he saw that it was actually a teenage girl sitting on the side of the cliff. Max was sitting right beside the girl and refused to leave her side. After seeing what was happening and realizing the danger that the girl might fall to her death, George called the police.
Thankfully, the police arrived quickly. The girl was already suffering from the early stages of hypothermia when the police rescued her, she was almost losing her consciousness. Nobody knows why the teenager was there or for how long she’s been sitting there but if she passed out, it was very likely that she would have fallen to her death.
Initially, the police credited George for saving the girl’s life. However, George stated that it was actually his dog, Max, who found the girl. If Max wasn’t there, he wouldn’t have found the girl. Max proves that the Pit Bull breeds aren’t violent or aggressive at all. A dog’s temperament will depend on how they were raised by their owners.
George explained that Max was always vigilant and caring. He’s very friendly, smart, and he always notices whenever someone needs help. George stated that if he’s sick, Max senses it and would comfort him. Here’s a video telling Max’s story of how he saved a teenage girl from falling to her death.
