Baby Girl is a mixed-breed dog that was living at the Capital Humane Society (CHS), an animal shelter in Lincoln, Nebraska. She needed a lot of patience and persistence to find a home. While other dogs in the shelter easily found their forever homes, Baby Girl had to wait a lot longer before she found one.

The CHS reported that the day Baby Girl was adopted was a joyful day for them all since she has finally found a home. They even referred to it as “Baby Girl’s Getaway Day.” They believe that the adoption day of every animal should be commemorated, especially Baby Girl’s since it took her five long years to be adopted.

Baby Girl required more time than other dogs in the shelter to be adopted. The dog had to meet many people first before she became accustomed to them. The presence of strangers made her cautious. Even with the shelter’s employees and volunteers, it took her some time to feel comfortable around them.

It was fortunate that the person who desperately wanted to take Baby Girl home was persistent and has a great deal of patience. This individual tried everything possible to gain Baby Girl’s trust and form a bond with the adorable dog.

Even though Baby Girl was already adopted and brought home, the humane society waited to make the announcement so that the dog and her new owners could bond. Even before their first meeting, the shelter director stated that Baby Girl and her new owner appeared to be the ideal match. Baby Girl was a sweet dog who simply needed to find someone who was prepared to overcome any challenges she had.

The new owner is really pleased with Baby Girl and has remarked that the dog has provided her so much joy.

Congratulations Baby Girl!
