When a male Golden Retriever spotted a miniature version of himself, he went insane. Even though it was only a toy, this Labrador nevertheless felt the green sting of envy. We couldn’t quite understand why, which is likely what made his story quite entertaining for us.
This golden retriever checked out the newcomer with keen interest. He wanted no problems, but he certainly disliked being overshadowed. His fur mom was his and his alone and he didn’t want her to have a replacement for him.
The mother wanted them to meet, but the golden retriever had other ideas. He disliked the intrusion and had no interest in the little doggo that his fur mom brought to their home.
So he did what all dogs his age did: he misbehaved and let his mother know that he didn’t like the new doggo there. He crouched low and began barking at his miniature double in an attempt to frighten away this stranger.
He had no intention of sharing his mother, no sir! The dog observed that, like himself, the small puppy had adorable ears, fur, and face. Perhaps this is why his fur mom really liked it so much.
The golden retriever was stunned when its mother petted the small dog’s head. Already, this newcomer was stealing his mother’s attention and affection! The puppy also wagged its tail and barked in response.
The Labrador Retriever could not believe how quickly his mother fell for the stranger’s act, which made him even more irritated. Mom simply laughed at her dog’s jealous behavior. He responded precisely as she anticipated he would.
Cheer up, doggo. Remember that no one will ever replace you in your mother’s heart. And give the small version of yourself a chance. We’re sure you’ll have a great time playing with it.
