No one expects to meet and adopt a dog while on vacation. Yet it happens sometimes and can change a person’s life for the better.
The logistics of taking a dog from one country to another might be complex for some. Still, some people are willing to go the extra mile for a dog they’ve just saved.
A woman named Eliana was visiting her mom in Italy. She never expected that she would meet and help a neglected dog. The previous owners didn’t want to take care of it anymore, so Eliana took him. She named the dog Brandon and spent the rest of her vacation caring for him.
Eliana had to get another plane ticket to get Brandon on the same flight as hers. After that was solved, she and Brandon could finally fly back to America. It was a 12-hour flight, but the dog was surprisingly well-behaved. The only issue was how easily the dogged got spooked by the plane noises, but aside from that, no problems occurred.
Eliana was relieved to finally arrive home after going through so much hassle. Her husband was pleasantly surprised to find out she had brought home another dog. She took the time to unwind and introduce Brandon to her two other dogs and her parrot.
Eliana admits that it’s fun to see Brandon interact with her other pets, especially the bird. She recalls moments when Brandon would randomly bark at nothing, only to find out he was barking at the bird. The woman admits that her parrot isn’t the friendliest bird, but for some reason, it was nice to Brandon.
Not everyone would do what Eliana did. She had to put her vacation on hold, and her flight back home was delayed. For her, going through those roadblocks was nothing compared to the joy the dog brought to her. She also felt good that she had changed the life of a dog in need.
