While this woman may have learned her lesson from a little embarrassment it could have been much worse. Dogs (and children too) are at severe risk from this simple but often overlooked situation.

It may seem fine to leave a dog or child in a car for a few minutes while we run inside quickly for an errand but how often do you expect to run in for a few minutes only to get stuck in line, or take longer than expected to find an item? Almost always.

Those few extra minutes can have serious consequences. Even when temps outside are as low at 70 degrees kids and pets are at risk.
